In the latest podcast, we had the pleasure to interview Dr Satoko Nakamura, an MD and PhD in medicine from Osaka City University, Japan. She has been conducting medical treatment and clinical research on hypertension, kidney diseases, and cardiovascular diseases at the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center for about 25 years. She is a board member of the Japanese Society of Hypertension, where she chairs the Diversity and Inclusion committee and is a councillor of the Japanese Society of Nephrology.

Dr Jafar is a Professor of Health Services and Systems Research at Duke-NUS Medical School, in Singapore, a Visiting Consultant of Renal Medicine at Singapore General Hospital, Visiting Professor of Medicine, Aga Khan University, Pakistan, Adjunct Professor of Nephrology, Tufts Medical Center, USA, and Research Professor at Duke Global Health Institute, Durham, USA.
At the ISH, she is part of the Research and Education Committee, leading the Lead ISH College of Experts.

Today we talk with Dr Tiny Masupe, a clinician-scientist, senior lecturer and assistant program director for the Master of Medicine (MMed) Public Health at the University of Botswana (UB). She has a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from Cardiff UK, Master’s in Public Health from South Africa, Master of Science in Occupational Medicine from Manchester UK and currently a PhD fellow in Non-Communicable Diseases focusing on type 2 diabetes and hypertension at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. She is the first recipient of the Neil Nathanson AfyaBora Global Health leadership award. Within the International Society of Hypertension (ISH), Dr Masupe is a national leader for the May Measurement Month Hypertension and is a member of the ISH Research and Education Committee.

Today we talk with Maria-Christina Zennaro, a Research Professor at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm). She is the head of the team “Genetic mechanisms of aldosterone related disorders” at INSERM, the Paris Cardiovascular Research Center, and University of Paris. She is also an associated investigator at the Genetics Department of the European Hospital Georges Pompidou in Paris, France. Maria-Christina is coordinator of the EU-funded Horizon 2020 research and innovation project ENS@T-HT, and partner of the Horizon 2020 MINDSHIFT project. She is very active in many societies, where she is president of the European Section of Aldosterone council (ESAC)-France, a member of the Executive Committee of the International Aldosterone Conference and the European Council on Cardiovascular Research between other appointments. And of interest to us today, Maria Christina has played a major role in the career development of many young researchers, and we are excited to hear all about her mentoring experiences today.
